The Claremont MakerSpace created a Summer Teacher Program in 2024 to introduce local teachers to the makerspace and enable them to learn new skills and create projects for themselves and their classrooms. The program provides unlimited membership access from 7am to 9pm daily during the summer. The cost is $200 for 3 full months of membership, including a locker, and member discounts on classes (valued over $350). This program is reserved for K-12 teachers from public and non-profit schools.
Besides membership, CMS offers LOTS of classes and you do not need to be a member to take public classes. In some cases, SAUs may be reimbursing pre-approved CMS classes as credit towards professional development. Our class schedule changes each month so you can always find the latest class offerings here. We will be adding new classes specifically for teachers during the summer months including XRP robotics, Cricut, laser cutter, 3D printing and various fibers options. Teachers can register for membership online and select the “Summer Teacher Program” option. Contact and billing information will be collected as part of the registration process. Once you have registered, you will be contacted by CMS Member Services to go through orientation and receive your building access card.
