Field Day 2019 — Amateur Radio’s Open House

    Saturday June 22, 2 PM – Sunday June 23, 2 PM

Are you interested in Amateur Radio? Do you want to learn how you can communicate locally and globally without the use of a telephone or the Internet using just a radio and antenna?

Our friends at the Twin State Radio Club would like to invite you to join them for Amateur Radio Field Day, Amateur Radio’s Open House. This is your chance to come out and learn, see a variety of Amateur Radio equipment in use, get on the air yourself and find out how you can become a licensed Amateur Radio operator and join in this exciting hobby.

Ham Radio as it is often called, is one of the original Do-It-Yourself hobbies and is one of the best ways for people to learn about electronics, physics, meteorology, and numerous other scientific disciplines, and is a huge asset to any community during disasters if the standard communications and power infrastructure goes down. Makers, electronics enthusiasts, and just folks who like to communicate are all part of the Amateur Radio community.

Twin State Radio Club will be operating for 24 hours using alternate forms of power including solar, battery, and generators, simulating a disaster situation, operating in a field, without any commercial power.

Come and learn about the many different ways to participate in Amateur Radio, including voice, digital, satellite communications, and Morse code. Learn about the variety of commercial Amateur Radio equipment available, as well as radio and antenna kits and electronics projects that you can build yourself, at home or at the Claremont MakerSpace.

Twin State Radio Club will be operating continually from Saturday June 24th at 2pm until Sunday June 25th at 2pm. Stop by any time, see the setup, talk with local radio enthusiasts and makers and get on the air and make your first radio contact! We’ll be set up at the Richmond Middle School playing fields 63 Lyme Rd, Hanover, NH 03755

ALL ARE WELCOME. You don’t need to be a licensed ham radio operator to attend. Stop by, check it out and see what this exciting hobby has to offer.

You can learn more about Field Day here: http://www.arrl.org/field-day and more info about Twin State Radio Club can be found at http://www.w1fn.org
